MY OPPONENT ~ Platform Outdated

My opponent's platform is yesterday's news
October 27, 2025
TO THE EDITOR:
My opponent in the race for member of the West Morris Regional Board of Education posted a response to Neil Henry’s endorsement of my candidacy. I believe it is important to clarify several points raised in Mr. Niemczyk’s letter.
First, I want to thank Neil Henry for his endorsement. His long-standing service and thoughtful perspectives are widely respected in our community.
Second, Mr. Niemczyk suggested that I alone was responsible for the district’s recent facility upgrades and achievements. That is simply not the case. These successes are the result of the hard work and shared commitment of students, teachers, administrators, families, and board members working together. I am proud that in some small way I may have contributed to these results.
Third, Mr. Niemczyk claimed the district is not addressing the real concerns of families. In fact, recent actions demonstrate a clear focus on student learning, transparency, and future readiness, including:
-
Thorough analysis of student successes in AP and IB test scores, as well as required state testing and performance results. This led to the identification of specific areas for improvement and the development of related action plans. (presentations available on the BOE website).
-
Comprehensive study of integrating AI into the classroom. (presentation available on the BOE website).
-
Expansion of IB Career Path program to help students explore career options and develop job-ready skills.
-
Recent hiring of an experienced assistant superintendent, who has solid experience in developing career academy programs.
-
Extension of relationships between our guidance department and college admissions officers across the range of schools to which our students apply.
-
Adoption of clear district goals, focused on student growth and achievement.
-
Audio-streaming board meetings to enhance public access and communication.
Fourth, Mr. Niemczyk asserted that his campaign is free from outside political influence. I will allow voters to draw their own conclusions. I am running an entirely self-funded campaign. I have neither sought nor received the endorsement or support of any organization, local or national. This is because I believe I should be answerable only to the residents of our district, especially Mendham Borough, and the students we serve.
Finally, Mr. Niemczyk made inuendoes about my age. Yes, I am older than he is. However, my leadership is bold and my ideas are fresh.
My commitment is simple: to ensure students have every opportunity to learn and succeed, and to support well-managed schools that strengthen our community and protect property values.
I respectfully ask for your vote on November 4th.
